I made these!!

I made these!

I made these!!! I needed a new set of saw horses for a while. Every time I have to cut wood or need something stable to do something on, its always a crap shoot. The ones I currently have are a “Workforce” brand plastic set. They were alright for years.. but just noticing my cuts are sloppy because the sawhorses are unstable.

The Target Pool

I’ve been on a mission to find an Intex 10′ x 30=33″ round blow up pool. I love the beach, and live within a 15 in bus ride to a beach.. not the best beach, but water on the ocean.

Since we’re living in CovidLand these days, I fear going to the beach to tan and relax will not be a thing this year. And I go to the beach to people watch and tan, not really to go into the water (the ocean is too cold until late August). I only go in every hour or so to cool off and wash off the sunscreen from tanning. So the water isn’t terribly important. Read more

Making Posts

As I said in my TechBear video.. posting here and making videos has become a chore. I think about stuff I want to post all day but I never do. I am not sure why. It really doesn’t take long to post. I guess it feels like work.

I’m going to make an effort to post at least once a day. Or try to at least.

No sense in running this and paying for web hosting if I am not updating it.

More to come.

Why I dislike Amazon, Reason #3089458

I have lots of reasons why I hate Amazon, and more will be posted here but here’s one.

One of the biggest is the vast array of products from all different manufacturers. And lets face it, we all know Amazon sells *many* goods made overseas. And you can be on there, looking for something, and see page after page of all similar products. And similar I mean IDENTICAL, except the name and the price point. So what gives?

How do I label this?

I needed a label to cut up for something I was working on. I have a whole drawer full of different Avery Labels.. you know, the neat pre-boxed label you buy at office supply stores that come in the right shape and size for whatever you are working on that cost a semi fortune half the time.

So I tend to save them, and I’ve help liquidate companies in the past , and often many office supplies get tossed. I’m all about saving a few bucks so often I’ll go in and take the good stuff, like Avery labels. Even if I don’t have a need for that label type, they still cut up with scissors and can be used for other things. (diskette labels work well for freezer labels on wrapped frozen food!)

Donuts! Donuts! Donuts!

In Keeping with the Covid “19” them from yesterday… today I decided to finally try out the donut recipe from the cookbook my mom used to use.

The book is “The Country Fair Cookbook: Every Recipe is a Blue Ribbon Winner” Edited by Elise W Manning, Farm Journal Food Editor . (Amazon purchase link). Its one of those many mass produced “book club” magazine cookbooks that were everywhere at that time. But damn it has some good (fattening) recipes in it.
